We're proud and honored to sponsor this year's Ellie's Run for Africa, a 5k race, kids' fun run, and family carnival benefiting the Mocha Club's efforts to provide quality education to children in Kenya.
Interested in running? The event takes place at 8 a.m. on May 16 in Percy Warner Park. You can register here.
Ellie's Run for Africa, which has become one of Nashville's favorite running events since 2004, was the brainchild of Ellie Ambrose. At the young age of 10, Ambrose heard a missionary speak at her church about the difficulties children face in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, and responded by organizing a 5k run and carnival to raise funds to support those children. Now, 11 years later, Ellie's Run for Africa is still going strong, having raised more than $500,000.
We feel like Ellie's run is a truly worthy cause and a great event in our community. We hope you'll consider supporting them as well!
